Dive in Deeper
Namena Reserve : Fiji's 'Galapagos'
Namena Reserve is the star of the show. Located about 20 miles offshore, this protected area is classed as a 'tabu' - a no take zone - allowing the ecosystem to thrive spectacularly. Diving here is akin to entering an untouched underwater metropolis of biodiversity - large pelagics, soft coral bommies and vibrant fish schools converge into some of the most thrilling diving on the planet. Grand Central Station is Namena's most famous dive site, boasting seamounts and walls covered in technicolour soft coral forests and frequented with huge schools of barracuda, trevally and grey reef sharks.
Savusavu Reefs : Koro Sea and Savusavu Bay
The reefs of Savusavu are commonly dived with the South Easterly trade winds do not allow dive boats to access Namena Reserve or exposed sites. The clear sheltered water of Savusavu bay contains dive sites such as 'Golden Nuggets', 'Dreadlocks' and 'Marsh Mellows' where soft corals, macro critters such as leaf fish and nudibranchs can be seen amid the excitement of large schools of fussilier, bass, unicorn fish and trevally.
'Dreamhouse', on the edge of the Koro Sea, South of Savusavu, offers a resident school of scalloped hammerhead sharks, patrolling grey reef sharks, batfish and much more. 'Purple Corner' and 'Turtle Alley' are other renowned dive sites.

Rainbow Reef : Fiji's Great White Wall
Tucked between Vanua Levu and Taveuni, around a 2 hour journey from Savusavu, lies the Rainbow Reef and the jewel in the crown - the Great White Wall. Soft corals in every shade of the rainbow thrive in this current rich stretch of water. They are flexible, kinetic and exist in a dizzying array of colours.
The Great White Wall (an advanced dive) is the pièce de resistance. After descending through a larval tube filled with red soldier fish you emerge in an 'eden' of soft coals and sea whips. Drifting weightlessly along the wall white Dendronepthya dominates creating an otherworldly, almost glacial landscape bathed in a surreal blue light.
Manta rays also visit the Rainbow Reef between the months of May to October. Snorkelling with these graceful creatures is an experience you will never forget.
A minimum of 4 divers/snorkellers is required
